Let me just talk about Machine Gun Kelly. Watch the video, the important part starts after the first couple minutes.

This guy has a message. This guy knows what’s going on, isn’t afraid to be him, and at the age of 23, takes nothing and turned his life over into something and he now continues to create not just for himself, but for the people who find themselves trapped in various situations in life as well. He is a loving man who cares deeply for his friends, family, fans, and all who are pressured by the society.

People can see him as a kid who fools around, and living everyday wildly like it’s his last, but when this guy gets serious, he is dead serious about doing what he loves and he puts all his emotions into his work and it really just shows. He is a smart and talented young person who has ideas. Powerful ideas. You don’t need to be the richest. You don’t need to come from the best place or go to the best school. You don’t need complicated big words and you don’t need what they try to tell you that you need.

Regarding the Lace Up movement, I’m just going to quote him,
“The movement has just grown because it has empowered people that are made out by the general public to be powerless, and we come along and we give them power and we give them a voice that people took away from them. When you’re a kid and you don’t have anything to cling on to, when you don’t have a group to be a part of - you go into the lunch room and you don’t have people to sit with. All you have is your headphones, cuz that was what I was when I was in school. All I had was those headphones and shit during lunchtime. I never had a group of friends I could go and kick it with, or talk shit with, or have fun with. All I had was my headphones. So when you give those kids that - like, fill that void for them, they rock with you for life.”

“I’m was proud of what we did. I didn’t make Lace Up for millions of people. I didn’t make that shit for a huge audience. I didn’t make that shit to be acceptable by everybody. I made that shit specifically for my group of fans. I don’t expect you to understand that. I don’t want you to understand it, when the intro comes on, only a certain type of person can feel that intro. Becky at the fucking University of Florida is probably not going to understand that intro. Her life’s cool, she’s got her shit planned out, she got daddy right there supporting her the whole way, she doesn’t need Machine Gun Kelly. But those kids who need me, they heard the intro and they were like ‘God damn motherfucker, thank you.’ and that’s what it’s about.”
